First Aid Training for International Students
We welcome international students on our first aid coursesWe welcome international students on our first aid courses. Practical Training Solutions is guided by the The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 (the Code), which ensures that our international students have a positive experience in their interaction and training with us.
An important aspect for you to consider is whether you actually are an international student. This might sound easy but for the purpose of education in New Zealand finding out whether you are treated as an international student is far from easy. You are not considered an international student for our courses if any of the following apply to you:
- You are a New Zealand citizen (this includes students from the Cook Islands, Tokelau or Niue) or permanent resident.
- You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- You are required by your employer to complete this training for your work.
- You meet any of the descriptors in the Tertiary Education (Domestic Students) Notice, which you can access by clicking here.
If any of these apply to you, you are treated as a domestic student and you can follow the normal booking process on our homepage. If none of these apply, you can still enrol with us – we just need a bit more information from you.
To make sure that you can make an informed decision on whether you would like to enrol with us, we have prepared specific information for our international students. Please take a moment to read through these documents:
